The Oscars disappointed quite a few

Farrah Fawcett's omission from the Oscars' "In Memoriam" segment Sunday didn't go unnoticed. In a statement to People magazine, her longtime partner, Ryan O'Neal, said "There is no comment other than we were disappointed that she was not included."

He wasn't alone. Jane Fonda tweeted, "Where was Farrah Fawcett? She should have been included" and Roger Ebert tweeted, "No Farrah Fawcett in the memorial tribute? Major fail."

A rep for the Academy, Leslie Unger, told E! News that the omission wasn't an "oversight. and no matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can't be."

Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze and Brittany Murphy were among those remembered in the segment. Bea Arthur and Ed McMahon, known more for their T-V work like Farrah, were not included. Farrah has been part of the academy for 40 years!
