Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at a Georgia nightclub early Friday morning.
According to the unidentified woman, Ben actually followed her into the women's room of a nightclub called Capital City in Milledgeville, Georgia, and attacked her.
The woman was treated at a local hospital and released. There's no word if she suffered any physical injuries. We also don't know exactly what she's accusing Ben of doing to her.
Roethlisberger has not been charged yet, but police have interviewed the alleged victim, and they're also speaking with witnesses.
Roethlisberger has also been interviewed by local police. But the Georgia Bureau of Investigation also plans on speaking with him.
On Friday, his agent released the following statement . . . quote, "Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening.
"We have spoken to law enforcement. Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night.
"Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved."
A Steelers' spokesman said, quote, "We are gathering information on the report and we will have no other comment at this time."
